LEAGUE OF LEGENDS: WORLDS 2016

SCOPE: Content design/animation and creative consulting

STORY: Having last worked together for the 2013 World Championship Finals, Riot Games came to us in the summer of 2016 seeking fresh ideas for the Opening Ceremony of what had become the largest eSports event in the world. We pitched and developed a projection mapped show that could bring the mythology of the game to life via immersive environments augmented by eye-popping FX. The projection mapped show featured an interplay of content on an interior hard-surface cube and a surrounding 25-foot tall semi-translucent scrim box measuring 90 feet wide and 55 feet deep, creating a larger-than-life experience for over 40 million fans combined watching from the stadium floor and streaming live from home. We took this project from concept to completion, including production on the visual content, building a 16:1 scale model for projection testing, and on-site integration.
